Theo Stamatiadis is a business and commercial lawyer specializing in intellectual property management and technology transfer.
Theo is currently the Lead IP Counsel for the Power Services Business of General Electric Company globally. Previously acting as a commercial counsel for Power Services, he provided legal support for power plant projects world-wide. Theo also worked 3 years as IP Counsel for Alstom Power, negotiating and managing a number of licenses in Asia, Russia and the Middle East.
Prior to this, Theo has been actively advising public and private research organizations and Small and Medium Enterprises on issues encompassing IP management and technology transfer, supporting numerous R&D projects, joint ventures and other business collaborations.
Theo has been collaborating regularly as lecturer with the WIPO Academy, National Patent Offices and the European Patent Office, the EU IPR-Heldpesk, and as visiting professor at the Spanish business school ‘Instituto de Empresa’.
Theo studied Law at Democritus University (Komotini, Greece) and holds a Masters in Communication Law (Toulouse, France) and a Masters in Legal Linguistics (Cergy-Pontoise, France). He is fluent in Greek, English, French, Spanish and Italian.
