Robert Alderson is a Partner and Head of International Business Development at Jacobacci & Partners, a European IP firm with about 120 professionals. Robert is one of the founding members of the firm’s International Business Development Committee. He is based in Jacobacci’s Turin, Italy office which has been the firm’s headquarters since its founding in 1872 . Robert has a degree in veterinary medicine and a degree in law (with honors), both from the University of Georgia. He has been a registered United States patent attorney for nearly 20 years. He became a European patent attorney in 2017 after having passed all 4 parts of the European patent bar exam on his first attempt. He is one of a very small number of IP professionals working in Europe who have a degree in law from the United States and who are also qualified to practice before both the US and European patent offices. Given his experience in the US and Europe, he is frequently asked to write and speak on a variety of IP-related topics.
